A Message from the Dean
"Come as you are. Leave as you want to be." The slogan on our new Honors Programs Student Association t-shirt informalizes the Mission of the Honors College of The University of Alabama: "To empower students to achieve to the top of their potential and to be recognized and rewarded for that achievement."
That's what we do here. We help students set the highest possible goals and we give them the resources, the tools, the instruction, and the support they need to reach them. The buzz about UA's Honors College comes from our students' successes in getting great jobs, in gaining admission to the best graduate or professional schools, in winning national and international scholarships and awards, and in having a lot of fun while doing these sorts of things.
Check out the programs in the Honors College. They aren't for underachievers. But for students with dreams and the drive to make them real, the programs in the Honors College can be the catalyst that enables the result desired. I and the other faculty at UA know that the measure of our success is the success of our students. I promise you that we work very hard to be successful.
