- What is the International Honors Program? The IHP is an honors program for students in any college, any major, who wish to internationalize their studies. Its requirements include 2 years’ study of a foreign language and studying abroad for one semester or two summer terms.
- How do I choose where and when to study abroad? The Capstone International Center works hand in hand with the IHP to provide advising and assistance to students in making these choices. Study-abroad advisors in the CIC can begin working with you during your freshman year.
- What is the retention standard for the IHP? Students in the IHP must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Do I have to major or minor in a foreign language to be in the IHP? No, that’s not required, though many IHP students eventually do so.
- Can I take some of my required foreign language courses while I’m studying overseas? Yes, you can. You’re also permitted to study abroad in an English speaking country. You don’t have to immerse yourself in a foreign language environment if that’s not your choice.
