Welcome to the University Honors Program

The University Honors Program is the largest of the Honors College’s three programs, serving over 10% of the undergraduate student body. The UHP is committed to helping its students define their dreams, take strides towards achieving them, and receive recognition and rewards for their accomplishments.

In the UHP, you will take classes under the guidance of the University’s most outstanding and committed faculty in the company of other dedicated students like yourself. UH courses are small in enrollment but vast in the amount of energy, ideas, and results that they generate.

UHP students are award winners—having won Rhodes, Truman, Goldwater, Gilman, Rotary, and Fulbright scholarships in recent years, as well as all major campus wide awards—but they are also very giving. Honors students participate in community service and outreach programs that better the people and places around the University of Alabama.

Any student who is eligible for the UHP should be in the UHP. The program and its the benefits, tangible and intangible, will change your life.
