TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama Honors College has named Hannah Gardner the March 2026 Student of the Month.
Gardner, a neuroscience major from Murfreesboro, Tenn., is a member of the Randall Research Scholars Program (RRSP). Through RRSP, Gardner conducts research focused on improving the efficiency and accuracy of MRI scans and diagnostic imaging at the UA MRI Research Facility.
Gardner said the Honors College and RRSP have played an important role in shaping her academic and research experiences at The University of Alabama.
“I adore the Honors program here at The University of Alabama,” Gardner said. “Through the Randall Research Scholars Program, I’ve built meaningful friendships and expanded my research in advancing MRI technology at the UA MRI Research Facility. I’ve also grown more confident taking on leadership roles and presenting my research and ideas.”
In addition to her research, Gardner is active in service both on campus and in the community. She volunteers at Druid City Hospital and works as a student assistant at University Medical Clinic. In May, Gardner traveled to Ghana with Friends of MSF (Doctors Without Borders), helping distribute antimalarial medication to students in rural schools.
“I am excited to see what the future holds and look forward to continuing to grow through the Honors College and RRSP,” Gardner said.
The Honors College Student of the Month program recognizes students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership and service. The University of Alabama Honors College congratulates Hannah Gardner on being named the March 2026 Student of the Month.
