The University of Alabama Honors College has named Anne Druhl as its new director of development, effective July 27.
Druhl returns to the Honors College after previously serving as events coordinator, where she played a key role in planning and executing programs and events across the college. During her tenure, she helped strengthen longstanding traditions, supported new initiatives and cultivated relationships with students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors and community partners.
Since leaving the Honors College, Druhl has expanded her experience in relationship management, stakeholder engagement and strategic outreach through positions with the City of Tuscaloosa and, most recently, as event planner for University Libraries. Her work has included collaborating with campus leaders, alumni, donors and external partners to advance institutional initiatives and strengthen community engagement.
“Anne brings a unique combination of institutional knowledge, relationship-building experience and a genuine passion for the Honors College,” said Dr. Tiffany Sippial, dean of The University of Alabama Honors College and associate provost for undergraduate education. “Her understanding of our mission and her ability to connect with alumni, donors and friends of the college will be instrumental as we continue advancing the goals of Honors Forward and expanding opportunities for our students.”
As director of development, Druhl will work closely with the Honors College advancement and external relations teams to strengthen donor engagement, cultivate philanthropic support and advance the strategic priorities outlined in the college’s Honors Forward strategic plan.
“Returning to the Honors College feels like coming home,” Druhl said. “I am grateful for the opportunity to rejoin a community that means so much to me and to help advance the mission of supporting our students, faculty and programs. I look forward to reconnecting with colleagues and building new relationships with the alumni, donors and friends who make Honors so special.”
Druhl’s return reflects the Honors College’s continued commitment to strengthening philanthropic partnerships that enhance the student experience and support the college’s mission of developing thinkers, citizens and leaders.
