Brandon ChalmersBrandon Chalmers was recently promoted to the director of recruitment and admissions. Chalmers is a Tuscaloosa native and a two-time graduate of The University of Alabama. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Arts in higher education administration. Chalmers’ previous experience at UA includes the Alabama College Transfer Advising Corps, Undergraduate Admissions and the Capstone College of Nursing. In addition to his work in higher education, he also has a keen heart for service and helping the greater West Alabama Community. Chalmers joined the Honors College team in November 2018 as the coordinator of student recruitment.

“I love the student-centered atmosphere of the Honors College. Everything that we do is about making sure students are receiving the most out of their experience here at UA,” said Chalmers. “Our team works daily to make sure that students have every opportunity to be successful, whether that be academically, professionally or personally while here on campus.”

Brandon is passionate about education and the power it has to transform lives, families and communities. As the director of recruitment and admissions for the Honors College, he looks forward to being a resource to students and their families at the Capstone.

“I am excited that I get to continue to serve in a capacity to help students decide where they would like to attend college. Choosing where to attend college is a pretty big decision for most students and their families, and I am happy to make sure they go into that decision with the most information so that they can choose where will be the best academic and personal fit for them,” said Chalmers. “I’m looking forward to working with campus partners and key community members as we continue to recruit a diverse group of academically gifted students to UA.”
