  • UH 120
  • Teacher: Quincy Hall
  • Term: spring 2020
  • Credits: 1

This course will delve into two accounts of what it is like to live in the American working class: Barbara Ehrenreich (Nickled and Dimed) who provides an eye-opening first-hand account of what it is like to hold a minimum-wage job in three American cities in the late 1990s and Joe Bageant (Deer Hunting with Jesus) who uses humor in his truth-telling account of what he learned when he moved back to his small hometown of Winchester, Virginia. Students will have the opportunity to learn and grow through meaningful discussion about what it means to be a part of the working class.
