Students will understand the philosophy of education as it relates to the building of curriculum and pedagogy. The course will cover a basic understanding of what the purpose of education is and how society transfers knowledge between humans. Students will be exposed to the foundations of education in American Society. As a service learning course students will understand the societal and philosophical underpinnings of education and how they relate to specific needs in our public schools using the vehicle of Rocketry. Students will be required to spend 25 hours in Tuscaloosa City and County public systems. This is a 3 credit hour course.
