Honors students will contribute on a research project recently funded by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) entitled “Analyzing Past and Future Trends in Streamflow and Extreme Events in coastal watersheds of Mississippi, Alabama and Northwest Florida.” Students will utilize tree-ring data to reconstruct streamflow going back 500+ years, evaluating past wet and dry (drought) periods. Students will work directly with faculty from Geography, Engineering, Geology and Law. Students who are interested in climate, water, botany, statistics, anthropology and geography are encouraged to participate.
