Dr. Yerby is an associate professor in the Department of Community Medicine and Population Health and the Institute for Rural Health Research in the College of Community Health Sciences. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Belmont University; an M.S. in in human environmental sciences from UA; and a Ph.D. in education and health promotion in a joint program of UA and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She teaches UH 120: Introduction to Rural Health.
