Dr. Poston received his Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Missouri. His research focuses on questions about rationality and inference.  He taught logic and critical thinking at the University of South Alabama from 2006 to 2018.  In connection with the College of Medicine, he designed and taught a medical reasoning course to improve the critical thinking skills of pre-med students.  His first book Reason & Explanation caught the eye of an epidemiologist at Tufts University and together they are working on a series of papers on causal inference in medicine.  Dr. Poston is an avid cyclist who dreams of completing a month long bike tour around France.
