Cory Jones joins the Honors College team as an academic advisor I. Jones graduated from The University of Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in English in 2018 and spent the following two years teaching middle school English. He has always had a love for helping people make important life decisions, and hopes to share his passion and experience acquired as a teacher to aid college students in making informed choices.

Jones is excited about applying the skills acquired by counseling middle school students through one of the great transitory periods of life to guiding college students with their academic, career and personal decisions.

“This is my first time working at UA, and I have loved interacting with all the colorful, yet warm, personalities present here and learning about their various interests,” said Jones.

Jones enjoys spending time in the outdoors, hearing others speak about their passions, relishing all things to do with the written or spoken word and following college sports (Roll Tide!).

“I love all UA sports traditions and the passion that the fans bring to games and discussions, but hearing ‘Rammer Jammer’ after a football victory never fails to put a smile on my face,” said Jones.
