Jessica Aguilar joined the Honors College as the new registrar in Jan. of 2022. Aguilar graduated from The University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Asian Studies. Upon graduation, she became a full-time staff member in the Office of the University Registrar until recently calling the Honors College home.
“What I am most looking forward to most about being an Honors College staff member is being part of a distinctly unique student experience,” said Aguilar. “When I was a student at UA, the Honors College helped me broaden my horizons and introduced me to ideas and people I would have never encountered otherwise. I’m looking forward to being a part of that experience as well as helping to shape and grow our programs for current and future students.”
Aguilar values the tight-knit community that is UA. Her favorite university tradition is spending fall Saturdays in Bryant Denny Stadium with her dad. As a former military kid, she loves to travel and enjoys a good road trip with friends and the occasional Disney World vacation. Aguilar’s favorite pastimes include writing, reading and watching cooking competitions on the Food Network with her cat.
