Jacob Ashcraft was named the Honors Student of the Month for November 2024.
Ashcraft, who is a junior and political science major, is from Tuscaloosa. He is involved with the College Republicans and the Young Americans for Freedom and has volunteered with the UA Mock Trial, Street Reach Memphis Mission Trip, and Mission Arlington. He has also served as a UA Athletic Host and has participated in the UA Common Ground Debate in April.
Ashcraft shared what his experience in the Honors College has meant to him.
“What drew me to the Honors Program, and what I have enjoyed about it, is the classroom experience,” said Ashcraft. “Going beyond pure curriculum and engaging with classmates in impactful and meaningful discussions in a scholarly way has been invaluable to my experience at UA.”
“The professors in Honors are not only knowledgeable and great teachers, but interested in making their students better,” Ashcraft shared. “For example, Dr. Tuggle encouraged me to apply for this just out of pure support for my work as a student and the desire to see me get recognized for that.”
Congratulations to Jacob Ashcraft, the November 2024 Honors College Student of the Month!
