The Honors College is excited to name Zoi Moon as the January 2025 Student of the Month.

Moon, hailing from Prattville, Alabama, is an Interdisciplinary Studies major with Depth Study in Financial Innovation and Sustainable Business. Moon is also in the CREATE Path to the MBA. She shared the impact that these classes have for her.

“The CREATE (Path) to (the) MBA classes have been a fantastic outlet for expressing my creative side and aligning with my goals of becoming a venture capitalist,” Moon said, “These classes have provided me with the tools and inspiration to confidently pursue my ambitions.”

Moon is a founding member of the Crimson Venture Capital Club, and is the author of “Dino Ventures”, a children’s book on venture capital. Also, a member of Honors College Assembly, Moon explained how the community of the Honors College influenced her growth.

“This sense of community has made such a large campus feel much smaller and more intimate, yet just as exciting,” Moon explained, “The Honors program has introduced me to some of the brightest minds I’ve ever met, especially through programs like (the) BIG Ideas (Contest) and UH classes. The intellectual stimulation and camaraderie within the Honors community have been invaluable to my personal and academic growth.”

Moon also shared about the transition from a small high school with a graduating class of 65 to a large university with 40,000 students.

“The Honors (College) program has made my transition to a large university smoother and enriched my college experience in countless ways,” Moon said, “It has provided me with a supportive community, creative and academic growth opportunities, and a sense of belonging that I will always cherish.”

Congratulations, Zoi Moon, the January 2025 Honors College Student of the Month!
