The Honors College is proud to name Christian Stephens as the February 2025 Student of the Month.

Stephens is a psychology and criminal justice major from Arlington, Tenn. and is in the Randall Research Scholars Program. He described how the Honors College has facilitated aspects of his educational, social and personal achievement.

“My passion for scholarly research is the matured product of time spent alongside exceptional peers in the Randall Research Scholars Program,” Stephens said, “and I attribute early coursework in Honors literature as the inspiration behind my selection of creative writing as my minor of choice.”

Stephens’ research includes work on nine different projects, including serving as a research assistant in the Psychology and Legal Decision-Making and the Flexa Labs. He is an Ambassador for the College of Arts and Sciences, Student-Faculty Liaison of the UA Psi Chi International Honor Society, and the Vice President of the UA Writers’ Guild.  Stephens finds motivation from within the Honors College too, citing his peers and the incredible feats they accomplish.

“First author publications, non-profit startups, self-composed music ensembles, and campus-wide initiatives are frequent reminders that I learn among leaders, no matter if our scholarly interests reside in different disciplines,” Stephens said. “…the Honors College served as a launching-off point from which my personality, morals and convictions found ground in specific lines of inquiry. For this, my appreciation is tantamount only to my pride in being an Honors student.”

Congratulations, Christian Stephens, on being named the Honors College February 2025 Student of the Month!
