Honors College Research Conference Presentation Travel Award Procedures & Application
The Honors College at The University of Alabama awards supplemental travel funds to Honors College students to present at a professional society meeting or at a regional, national or international conference. Travel awards generally range in amounts ($50-$500) and will be awarded following the evaluation of the student’s application. The evaluation process may be lengthy. Therefore, we encourage students to apply as early as possible. Travel awards will be dispersed through student account services and will follow the policy outlined in the Payments to Students Policy for The University of Alabama.
Beginning in August 2023, the Office for Undergraduate Research (OUR) and the Honors College partnered to administer research conference presentation travel awards. Honors students that are seeking research conference presentation travel support must complete the OUR application. Honors students who complete the OUR application will automatically be considered for both Honors and OUR research conference presentation travel awards.
Eligibility for Honors College Research Conference Presentation Travel Awards
Honors College students must meet all the eligibility requirements outlined by OUR on their website. In addition to these requirements, Honors College students must meet the following requirements.
- Honors students may only receive one research conference presentation travel support award from the Honors College per fiscal year (October – September).
- Students must be in good standing in their respective Honors College program. This includes GPA requirements and course completion requirements.
