Isabele Airey Named March Student of the Month

The Honors College is proud to name Isabele Airey as the Student of the Month for March 2025. Airey is a chemical engineering major in the STEM Path to the MBA program and a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers from Slidell, Louisiana.

Airey is also a Student Alumni Ambassador, a summer athletic training intern for The University of Alabama’s Football team (Summer 2023 and Summer 2024), an advanced emergency medical technician for Acadian Ambulance and a member of a research lab led by Dr. Qiang Huang in the College of Engineering.

Being in the STEM Path to the MBA program helps Airey feel at home in the Honors College at UA.

“As a member of the STEM to MBA program, I was involved on a Bama IP team where we were able to create a business model around technologies that are researched and developed on campus,” said Airey.

“As the largest Honors College in the SEC, these programs allow for communities within the larger scale of the Honors College that make it feel like a home away from home,” Airey shared. “The Honors College experience truly is what you make it. There are a multitude of resources you can be as involved in as you choose to be.”

Airey discussed her experience with Honors Action the summer before her freshman year.

“The Honors College is what started my college experience through the Honors Action program,” Airey explained, “Honors Action allowed me to familiarize myself with and serve the Tuscaloosa community before I even began my college career and create friendships I treasure to this day.”

Honors Action is an exciting, week-long community engagement experience and course designed to provide Honors College freshmen with the opportunity to engage in meaningful community-based partnerships. Participants in the program arrive on campus before their peers and devote the last week of their summer to service projects in the Tuscaloosa area. The Honors Action application is now open. The deadline to apply is May 1, 2025. If you’re interested in applying, please visit our Honors Action page.

Congratulations on being named March’s Student of the Month, Isabele Airey!
