Brina Harden, a senior from Decatur, Alabama, is pursuing a double-major in English and political science. For Harden, her involvement in the Honors College has made her experience at UA very personal.

“Involvement in the Honors College has made a large school feel incredibly small to me,” Harden wrote. “I have been able to be involved with the University Fellows Experience during my time here, and it has been very fulfilling to have a small cohort of peers to serve with and do life alongside.”

Not only is she a part of University Fellows Experience, Harden is an Honors College Ambassador. “I also have greatly enjoyed the personal connections I’ve made as an Honors College Ambassador, both with prospective students and my fellow ambassadors,” Harden shared.

In addition to her involvement in the Honors College, Harden is an editor for the Capstone Journal of Law and Public Policy, a member of the Cardinal Key Honor Society, and the Director of Leadership for Alpha Gamma Delta.

Lastly, Harden shared her perspective on Honors College courses. “I always enjoy taking Honors courses because of the small class sizes and the emphasis on discussion and collaboration,” Harden wrote. “I am indebted to the Honors College for how it has been integral in shaping my college experience.”

Congratulations Brina on being the December Honors College Student of the Month!
