Message from the Dean

Welcome to the Honors College!
The Honors College is the home to more than 7,000 high-performing and high-potential students at The University of Alabama. It is our mission to recruit, retain and actively engage them within a diverse community of scholars. Our goal is to shape our students into critical and creative thinkers, ethical and empathetic citizens and collaborative and inclusive leaders.
Within the Honors College, we offer the University Honors Program, the Randall Research Scholars Program, and the University Fellows Experience. These programs serve to provide opportunities and experiences where our students become transdisciplinary scholars, rising stars in cutting edge research and future leaders for our community, nation and world. In addition, we partner with different Colleges through their Honors programs: the Blount Scholars Program and McCollough Institute for Pre-Medical Scholars (College of Arts and Sciences); the STEM Path to the MBA and the CREATE Path to the MBA (Culverhouse College of Business); and the Engineering Positive and Intentional Change (EPIC) program (College of Engineering). The Honors College is both an engaged family and a collaborative community.
Our faculty of the Honors College are experts in their own disciplinary fields and many of them have been in Honors education for years. They provide the Honors curriculum and academic guidance to our students.
If you plan to introduce yourself to the Honors College for the first time, to visit to campus or are already a member of the Honors community, I invite you to explore our website and discover more about the learning environment at the Honors College.
