Once he starts talking, he doesn’t stop for a while. He loves what he does—it’s obvious. It’s that sort of unapologetic passion that makes Dr. George Daniels a valuable part of the Honors College community.

Before starting his freshman year at UA, Jeff Rogers took part in Alabama Action, a week-long service project for incoming freshmen in the Honors College, and as a result, “I saw what civic engagement could be.”

Plants change lives. At least, that’s what sophomore Olivia Howell believes. The biology and biochemistry double-major spends her free time finding her roots (literally) by volunteering for the Druid City Garden Project.
