Dr. Halli is the founding dean emeritus of the Honors College. He received his bachelor’s degree from Boston College and his master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Virginia. He taught for 30 years in the English department at UA before being named director of what was then the Honors Program in 2002. His awards include the Morris Lehman Mayer Award (2000); the Outstanding Commitment to Students Award (1997); and the Outstanding Commitment to Teaching Award (1978). Dr. Halli serves as UA Faculty Representative to the Harry Truman Scholarship Foundation.
