Mrs. Batson serves as the Program Manager for the Randall Research Scholars Program (RRSP) and is the Honors College technology coordinator. She graduated summa cum laude from UA’s New College in 1980 with a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies with a depth study in computer engineering with concentrations in business and psychology. She is an alumna of the Computer-Based Honors Program (now Randall Research Scholars Program). After graduation, Mrs. Batson worked in Atlanta for AT&T as a business systems analyst (accounting); Lockheed Corporation as a systems analyst in the Engineering Systems Support group; and Georgia Institute of Technology Research Institute as a research scientist in the Systems Engineering Lab. After returning to Tuscaloosa, Mrs. Batson served as the freshman instructor for CBHP until 1990 when she chose to leave the workforce to be a full-time mother and volunteer in her community and church including serving in various roles in the Seebeck Society, the RRSP alumni support group. In 2004, Mrs. Batson returned to full-time work as the CBHP program manager. She has been dubbed “all things RRSP.” In her words, “I consider it a privilege and honor to work with the students, parents, faculty and staff of the RRSP and Honors College.  The students bring fresh perspectives on the world which challenges me to always continue to learn. They are my extended family.” Mrs. Batson is married to Dr. Robert Batson, who is a professor of Engineering, and they have two children who are alumni of UA and the Honors College.
